Thomas Anders Brevik, MD
Thomas Anders Brevik, MD, is passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle to prevent, treat and delay progression of kidney disease. He encourages patients to take ownership of their disease and advocates self-management skills, with a particular emphasis on exercise and a whole food plant based diet. Dr. Brevik is himself a vegan which gives him insight in how to implement a healthy diet and its role in renal disease.
Dr. Brevik, who was born and raised in Norway, earned his medical degree from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and fellowship in Nephrology at Westchester Medical Center in New York where he served as Chief Nephrology Fellow.
Outside of work, Dr. Brevik loves an active lifestyle spending time outdoors. He revels in physical challenges, skiing, scuba diving, hiking, biking and rock climbing. When relaxing he enjoys science podcasts, fantasy/sci-fi literature and movies.
